We’ve turned into a Hive, things are getting serious.
I wouldn't recommend anyone to try and break into the field right now, because the job market is in a bad state, especially for those who don't have experience.
Typical advice from someone who has successfully broken into the field, so that newbies don't undercut his salary. Author
It's like a joke, but it's true in real life. A job that requires long training, some intelligence, and talent is valued the same as a job that requires nothing but not being mentally retarded or disabled. And that's because a bunch of idiots who have a computer decided to break into the field and undercut prices.
You wouldn't believe how hard it is these days to find an adequate, non-mentally retarded person, even for an entry-level position, let alone for a position that requires you to use a couple of brain cells, and not just in the CIS countries. An inadequate number of amoebas are trying to break into the field on a whim, not only without any skills or experience, but even unable to string two words together, go even a tiny step beyond what they were shown in the instructions on their first day of training, and with a typing speed of up to five letters per minute.
