We’ve turned into a Hive, things are getting serious.

The thing is, dating sites attract a very specific audience, and normal people looking for normal relationships don't stick around for long. They either find what they're looking for or give up and leave. But those who can't find a partner or just enjoy switching partners like gloves tend to stay there. So, even though the sample size might be large, it's not very representative. In my social circle, there are many people who found partners at school/work, at interest-based gatherings, through shared hobbies, etc., and almost none who found a partner on a dating site.

Pretty much the same.

But recently, one of my acquaintances decided to try building a relationship with a woman from a dating site. She's, let's just say, a bit "eccentric." Not to mention that she gave birth around 18-19 and already has a 17-year-old daughter who lives independently. And the guy seems to realize that something is not quite right with her (and there are many things that are not right), but he's not ready to break up yet because he also sees some good qualities in her. Including the fact that she spends all her time either at work or with him (she has her own apartment, earns a good living, and is completely financially independent of him and doesn't ask for anything).
I don't even know if his example can be considered positive.
