Actually, I agree with the argument that the Academy enhances the Sylvan faction.
The ability to learn what you need often makes the difference. For example, if you get a book and learn the skill, you can start leveling up. At level 20, they might not give you what you need, or they might give it too late.
Well, I'm not arguing that it's a "plus." However, as I understand it, you, Sir Forrest, are relying exclusively on online games, right? Then it's hard for me to imagine a hero in your battles reaching a high level. For battles on the map, secondary skills like "magic..." are not as important as in a battle with a human, so there is still a decent amount of time to get the skill you need.
And, most importantly - (this is purely out of my own interest :)) - do you often conduct the final battle with the main hero?
