I tried Morrowind 3-5 years after Oblivion was released. My dad suggested I play Morrowind first, then Oblivion, saying that otherwise I wouldn't want to play the third part. I got to Vivec, got into some kind of annoying fight in the sewers while I was sleepy (I think there was some event there, and that guy would have attacked me anyway), and then I gave up and realized it wasn't for me.
After the wedding, my husband gave me his laptop and installed Skyrim on it because he was actively playing it at the time and wanted me to try it. That's when I really got hooked, and with a stealth archer, I not only killed Alduin but also completed all the guilds, Dragonborn quests, and built myself a whole mansion. I leveled up so much that in the same Dragonborn, I killed Karstaag with just a couple of shots from a poisoned Dwemer crossbow (the others died with one shot, and often even without stealth), it became boring, and I finally quit the game, only ignoring various minor side quests and the conflicts between Serana and her father.
