I don't remember much about the ice level right now.

If you played with warps, it's not surprising. Although, as a child, it was difficult to find them, except perhaps on the 3rd level in the races, you could accidentally end up there.

I had two cartridges, Contra 3 and Super Contra.

Well, in the GIF, it seems to be the SNES version or something else.

Still, the leap in graphics between the parts is quite significant.

It's a pity that the gameplay leap was in the opposite direction. Well, at least they improved the physics, that's the main plus.
