I watched the adaptation because the plot seemed interesting; I like time-travel stuff, but I can’t stand the “walking simulator” genre; I get bored “playing” them. I had the same impressions; it’s a bit slow at first, but it quickly picks up and becomes engaging, and from the middle onwards, it’s all action. I don’t know which ending is considered canon, but it seems to be the true one. And yes, the main character didn’t annoy me; I found him hilarious, such a pompous idiot 🤣 And I agree that both girls are likeable. Although I can’t say that any of the characters really captivated me. They’re okay, cool in the moment, but now I only remember the main character because he’s so meme-worthy.
