Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era - Обсуждение

In our last devlog, we showed you the arena mode. Following that, it is only natural to tell you about one of the non-obvious highlights of "Heroes." We are talking, of course, about the Random Map Generator (RMG) and its templates. If you have used the RMG in previous games of the series, our approach will seem familiar to you. However, we primarily strive to focus on the quality of the generated maps rather than their quantity. But there is no need to worry; Olden Era will still provide a wide selection of templates. And, of course, keep in mind that much of what is mentioned below may still change during the game's development.

"It is true. As long as suspicious activity is observed in long-forgotten and forbidden places, and the insectoid raids continue, I fear the continent will remain in chaos. This is why we wish to propose the following plan." — Ilvari paused for a second, pulled out another official message from the Triumvirate, and then began to read it.

"By the power granted to us by the admiration and trust of our people, we — Queen Amelchia of the Stygian Scale; Grand Architect Balthazar, Son of Balthazar and Chieftain of His Lair; and Master Caspar Silvertongue, Patriarch of the Alvarian Elves — hereby wish to invite all who would protect Jadam from threats that would leave it forever scarred, to join us in laying down arms against one another and raising them against those who wish to destroy our beloved continent. If this Winter Truce we propose comes into effect, our borders will be open to you, and our relics of power will be at your full disposal. In return, we ask that your archives and banks of wisdom become available to us, so that we may assess the threats plaguing our people and find the strange criminals of whom you may have been witnesses. We reserve the right to withdraw from this agreement if any party attempts to abuse it to harm another member of this truce.

As soon as Ilvari finished reading, the entire square erupted in a cacophony of sounds. What the Triumvirate proposed seemed absurd to many, blasphemous to some, and impossible to others. A difficult task lay before her.

Ilvari looked around — the chaos she saw was colossal. As she expected, Anastasia and Una were bickering with each other, accusing one another of monstrous deeds; their lords disregarded the Twilight Treaty and went so far as to suggest that the threat from the insects was merely a diversion created by their masters to allow the Church or the Guild to freely conquer Jadam. What surprised the young medusa was that Red and Benjamin were also arguing with each other, the former calling the latter crazy if he thought the fairies would allow his entrepreneurs anywhere near the forest, even if it were just for seeking knowledge. The wording of the message had left everyone bewildered, and it was clear that personal animosity and prejudice would always fuel conflict.

"Dear emissaries, I would like once more to..." But this time, no one listened to her. Unable to break through their shouting, Ilvari was ready to simply wait it out, but the Oracle had other plans. They raised a hand, and the square fell silent once again.
