Ilvari surveyed the plaza, her snakes cautiously flicking their tongues, as if trying to gauge the impact her news had on the assembled envoys. It was a calculated move, as while everyone had different views and perspectives on philosophical and religious matters, no one wished to come to terms with the loss of brilliant minds who toiled diligently, using the little knowledge they could glean from the readings of the stars left by the Ancients.
