"I shouldn't have even left the house; a brick might fall on my head, or I might get struck by lightning..." the calcite-skinned creature muttered quietly, but loud enough for Illiman to hear.
For some, the next few hours dragged on agonizingly, while for others, they flew by in an instant. Sir Kire forced the boys to walk around the outskirts of Faris for six hours - without food, breaks, or even conversation. It was just a brisk walk across rough terrain, and yet it made the boys quite tired, especially because they had to carry their new equipment. After that, he made them practice with their chosen weapons for an hour.
- "Ugh, I broke a nail," Sheila said, disgruntled, as she put her injured index finger in her mouth. "It's going to take forever to heal."
- "Well!" the wandering knight clapped his hands. "I think you're ready now."
- "W-we... home?" The panting Illiman looked at the instructor with hope in his eyes. "Finally..."
- "No, this is just the beginning! Now, the four of you must fight each other. This will be the best lesson possible for you to get acquainted with your equipment!"
