yeah, a statue is kind of weird, or too epic; on the other hand, this thing is at least memorable, the ziggurats from 6 and 7 are dull, and the fifth-gen spires will look bad in 2D imho
the problem here is that in 3 the fort was the face of the town, but here the fort is just a wall in the background; eh, the era of grim castles is gone(((
The 3-players are definitely out. They'll continue to gather dust until they die out rather than switch to another game. When they found out there would be a unit turn order initiative, they muttered something and slammed the door loud. So targeting them or the 2-players is not an option at all. Those who develop the game (2 and 3), it's just interesting for them, they're involved, well, and they pay money. That leaves the 5-players and everyone else. The situation with the 5-players is roughly the same. Everyone else and the youth remain. That's who should be emphasized for the most part, not the dinosaurs.
Mobile gaming has long been at the forefront. If an old-school developer makes a great port, they'll at least rake in some cash from people who like to play on the toilet. Now, expecting the game to become a tactical Dota, LoL etc. in the world of esports is certainly attractive, but whether a developer can pull that off, time will tell.
But. When people talk about Heroes, they remember the third one first and foremost. The fifth is more or less known, but the third is incomparably more noticeable and louder. There are tons of 3-players in the info field; even people younger than the game itself know it exists. And if developers meme about astrologers, return to the old setting, howl on every corner about how they want to bring back the series—it's reasonable to base it on THAT VERY legendary great divine perfect third part. Naturally, modernize it, because it's absolutely right to cultivate a new generation of gamers; you can even go into mobile gaming, why not, I have nothing against mobile gaming. But what we have doesn't look like 3 for a new generation =_=
