We are playing on a pirated version.
After playing for some time and deciding to resume the game, it turned out that my friend's game simply doesn't recognize the saves. We decided to figure out what the problem is.
All that we managed to find out:
The problem appears specifically with Tribes of the East; the original game and Hammers of Fate are saved perfectly on my friend's computer. When we looked at the entire save process in Tribes of the East, it turned out that the save folder is created differently than in the original and Hammers of Fate. As I understand it, the original and HoF are saved in the path C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Heroes of Might and Magic V, while Tribes of the East is saved in the path C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Heroes of Might and Magic V — Tribes of the East. We see that the folders differ after the \My Games\ directory.
But here's the problem:
In the My Games directory, the folder that should have been inside Heroes of Might and Magic V — Tribes of the East is created directly, instead of the latter named one, that is, the Profiles folder, and a profile with the specified name is created there, but there are no saves inside that profile folder.
Because of this problem, my friend receives a message every time he saves that there is not enough space on the disk, although there are tens of gigabytes of free space. Can you suggest how we could solve this issue? The game has already been reinstalled, but the problem remains.
You could try creating a profile with a different name, running it as an administrator, who knows.
