Large hands, rough shadows. The skin on the hands is much darker than on the face. The fingers are unkempt. The anatomy of the hand is very sharply defined; you'd expect more softness from a young, female monk. The knuckles are very, um, not very appealing. I myself often struggle with drawing them and understand how difficult it is, but still. At the same time, the hands aren't just somewhere in the background; they are an important part of the picture, and your eye is drawn to them (the heroine's face is directed towards them, and we follow the direction of her gaze).
