Albrecht joined the Secret Guard several years ago when he was picked up on the street by one of the organization's employees. Albrecht didn't remember how he ended up on the street or what happened to him before he met Neil Van Hosling, an agent of the Secret Guard and a well-known actor in Tifaria. The help given to Albrecht wasn't out of charity, but rather a way to replenish the Guard's ranks. Albrecht didn't know if Neil's wife and other actor friends were genuine. They always treated him well, and that was all that mattered to him. Besides, for a more convincing cover, they very well could be real.

Neil raised Albrecht as a potential agent. The calm and taciturn, yet quick and agile young man was assigned to the assassins, and he spent his youth learning the art of discreetly eliminating people. He also learned to dance. This was his official cover profession as a young assassin. He didn't want to follow in the footsteps of the elder Van Hosling; it wasn't a dislike for excessive chatter that deterred him from this craft.

After completing his initial training, the young man awaited his first mission as an agent of the Secret Guard.
