Vampires are much weaker in Heroes of Might and Magic V than in previous installments. They don't deal as much damage. So, as strange as it sounds, they are not very effective in small and medium numbers. Only when there are a lot of them can they do something. My observations: - Jarl (or Earl?) causes the most destruction, as he attacks with lightning. Of course, this is effective if the enemy army is large. - Liches deal excellent damage and have a cloud attack. - Elves are excellent archers. - Paladins have a charge attack. - Archmages use Fireball.
