And of course, there was the radiant Erefir, with her knightly order. On the other hand, she herself did not receive the desired restoration after Melessar's magic, although she had hoped for a different outcome. This was the only possible reward she had thought about after the victory over Despair. To regain a part of herself, just as she had helped Naria gather the pieces of her own being.

There was another point. Only after discovering fellow countrymen from her world, seeing them with her own eyes, did she learn the sad fact that Carneol would be relocated. Not right now, but in the near future. And Klin, almost certainly, would depart for the lands granted to him. The inquisitor's soul was torn in three directions, wanting to simultaneously protect her new comrades, stay close to the former empress, and help her loyal friend with his homeland.
