The appearance of the driver aroused no less interest in Alaria than the technological marvel she was piloting. Alaria certainly didn't expect to see the true Empress of Reima here, and certainly not like this. The universe certainly has a peculiar sense of humor. It was paradoxical to see Sonata, either as a driver or a bodyguard, considering her previous occupation. But she didn't seem to mind. It was a strange world. Very strange. But at least she was happy, even despite this "demotion." Then, a second Reima native appeared on stage – Aiyano. Apparently, they were acquainted after all. Which meant that only the Tanarian was unlucky, as usual, being the last to know and not being aware of what was happening around her. But... perhaps they would soon be invited on stage as well – to present the dragon slayers who saved Welfern from numerous deaths and a possible collapse.
And yet, the inquisitor had a bad feeling. If Naria was now going to introduce her adopted daughter to the people, what would be the reaction? Not only was she a foreigner, but she was also twice her age. She appeared out of nowhere. The stories about Shen, whom the people of Margel immediately disliked, came to mind. What if the same thing happens now? Wouldn't this be a blow to the reputation of the new empress in the eyes of her subjects? As if the situation with Kriedar wasn't enough. Zlobna's reaction last night certainly gave some hope that it would be avoided, but it was still worth being vigilant. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.
