Corridors of Time

How's it going? How far did you get, where did you get stuck, and which ending did you achieve?

I didn't get anywhere, didn't get stuck, and didn't achieve any ending))
I'll try running the map on a more powerful computer (instead of my old favorite laptop, which is almost as old as Heroes).

I started the game and... got stuck on the very first battle. How do I get through with one swordsman and a hero against five Orcish Assassins? They reach my swordsman in two turns, hit him once, I hit the assassins with my hero, taking off 10 HP, the assassins hit my swordsmen, and... that's it. The swordsman goes to Elrath.
The very first cutscene is confusing and not very pretty. The introductory cutscene is just as confusing - where were the English? The Reds? But then, why did the king and his friend decide to run away from them? They were supposed to meet with the King of England, Henry.
