Actually, it's better this way than when chubby girls cosplay slender characters, and it looks like a mockery (of both the girl and the character).

And where did you get the idea that there's tape or something like that in the 4th picture? Not everyone is that shy... + this is a photoshoot in a studio, not at a Comic-Con.
