There was a period when I was very worried that I didn't have a console when I was a child.

I never really worried about not having a console.

Considering the "availability" of games, the Dendy wasn't something special. There were, of course, some good games available, even cult classics, but I only saw/played the first part of Mario, and it turned out that there were second and third parts in the world (maybe even in Moscow). Some games were protected, and piracy could cause unpleasant things to happen, like the health bar disappearing, causing you to die with the first touch (I played one such game and even got quite far. It was a great game). Not to mention that there were no RPGs or even Zelda games, because they were long, so they used saves, and we didn't have cartridges with batteries. Besides, there were a lot of Japanese games that were only released in Japan (like Fire Emblem, etc.). The first Might and Magic is available on Dendy, by the way. Or maybe not just the first.
Things were much better with the Sega. The games were more diverse and more colorful, and many of them used level codes to continue from where you left off. Maybe not all of them, it's hard to imagine that in some RPGs. By the way, good isometric games, strategies, and other games started to appear on it. I doubt that all of them were available to us, though. Personally, I only played games that other people bought, and I don't even know what was being sold for the Sega at that time
