It's even a bit strange to me that people know and listen to the original.
As I recall, in the early 2000s, the version by guano apes played on every radio; plus, it's so high-energy. The original is more lyrical, and it wasn't broadcast anywhere.

I also remember there was a loose translation of this song back in those years.
In it, the title "Big in Japan" was translated as "Master of the World".
