Well, dwarves are like ants, so it's all good.

I became curious and Googled why ants are strong – scientists on the internet say it's because, due to the lack of wings and muscles for flight, more space in their bodies is occupied by regular muscles.
In the case of gnomes, this still doesn't explain how they can be as strong as an orc, who hasn't lost anything in its skeleton and has huge muscles, not to mention that, being a dwarf, it's clearly more difficult to handle a large two-handed weapon and generally move fast enough to even slightly match in combat. And in the case of loli-gnomes, it remains a mystery.
So, most likely, it's impossible to achieve realism in such things, no matter how hard you try. Therefore, you can just admire the numbers and not worry about it.
