Arual was born after the founding of Margel, and therefore was not personally familiar with his father's original homeland, nor with the specifics of his life's journey. By the time he reached adolescence, Sigmort had already been defeated, and his father ruled the country, freed from the oppression of the aristocracy. While Thorvik and his other sons were famous warriors who loved agriculture and animal husbandry, Arual was fascinated by urban planning, logistics, economics, linguistics, history, jurisprudence, and many other sciences.
In his youth, Arual suffered a severe case of smallpox, which resulted in the loss of one eye. Historians agree that if the disease had taken his life or health, Margel would not have achieved its dominant status. Even during Thorvik's lifetime, Arual was involved in important state affairs, and after his death, he became the new ruler, although he was not his firstborn son – such was the king's will, who believed that his talents would lead Margel to prosperity for many years to come.
Being a deeply religious man, he believed that any political system created by man was doomed to be corrupted over time, and therefore he tried to delegate some of the powers to divine will. According to the constitution he wrote (which was the first of its kind in that historical period), the rights granted to the citizens of Margel were given to them not by the state, but by Anuzish herself, and therefore no one could infringe upon them. To solidify this status, he founded the royal dynasty "es Diesra," which, in his opinion, should not so much rule as protect the inhabitants of Margel and their constitution.
Under his leadership, an efficient road network was built between all the cities of the kingdom for the rapid movement of troops, trade caravans, and couriers, which served as the foundation for Margel's economic superiority for many years to come. For similar purposes, schools and other educational and scientific institutions were built everywhere, an effective education system was created, and even a completely new calendar was introduced. Thanks to this invention, even outside the empire, dates are now counted from the day of Margel's founding.
