Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon

This, I believe, can be called a true dwelling for a person, unlike concrete pens.
I observed a great multitude of scenes and setting details here that tugged at my aesthetic sensibilities.
You watch and feel in your heart that it's pleasant to be here — pure beauty, your eyes can't get enough.

The first half is extraordinary. The protagonist's life is beautifully depicted — her daily routine, her relationships with the people around her, the importance of status in her small world, the sentimental significance of simple gestures, and the pricelessness of personal belongings known only to their owner. It's delightful to watch how, like a flower placed in favorable conditions, she begins to bloom, both inside and out.

While I'm no inquisitor of the church of realism, I will note that the characters here are very lifelike. The unjust stepmother, the spoiled younger sister, the grandmotherly servant with a heart of gold, and many others — some might say they're exaggerated, but I can fully imagine their mindset, what drives them, and why they act the way they do.

For the first half I can boldly give a ten, and for the second somewhere around an eight, because the surprisingly beautiful and detailed story of one person's life did sag a bit under the weight of the ensuing action and plot intrigue. Though the duel shown a bit later I enjoyed quite a lot.

I'd also highlight that I really liked the main couple. The heroine is a paragon of femininity, and the hero of masculinity — both complement each other perfectly. Special respect to the voice actress for how masterfully she conveyed the emotions the heroine experiences. This is generally true of most Japanese roles, but here it truly tugged at the soul every time her gentle voice cracked, whether from great joy, unbearable sorrow, or any other emotion. And appearance-wise, she's certainly among the most beautiful characters I've ever seen. That, of course, matters a great deal too.
