While playing against a Warlock with a standard Chaos build, using Lucky Wizard and magic boosters (Ice Embrace Amulet, Phoenix Feather Cloak), it's best to forget about Jalib and remove him from the list of potential starting heroes for the Academy. I'll clarify that this applies to a sensible opponent – the AI or a player who is new to Dungeon. Jalib's special ability, at higher hero levels, will almost certainly redirect an area-of-effect spell like Earth Shock or Ice Block onto the Warlock's army, but it is completely useless against area-of-effect spells like Ring of Cold, Fireball, and Meteor Shower.
Moreover, Magic Mirror is available to all Academy heroes, but it is most effective for Jalib, so the Warlock should avoid risking his army and voluntarily give up single-target spells in favor of area-of-effect spells.
