Beata and Guion felt something strange. Indescribable. As if their reality had split in two. As if some forces, beyond the control of gods or celestials, beyond anyone in the universe, decided to intervene and save the unfortunate couple.
They were still standing there, embracing. And then they gave up on everything.
"Hey, guys. Tell Rynze to find someone else for this Carneol, this princess. Rynze can have it. Let's go to the docks and take the first ship to Hellas."
Whether it was the shock of what had happened, or the fatigue from all the trials they had faced, or something else, but these words were enough. The downtrodden crew of the "Carneol" exchanged glances and followed Beata to the docks, where she wiped away her tears and confidently walked through the city. In the morning mist, one could see the semi-transparent silhouettes of ghosts - a gnome, an actor, and a musician - following them.
The journey to Hellas was calm and uneventful. The money they had earned was enough to settle in a new place with all the comforts.
Towards the end of autumn, other guests arrived - a buxom swordswoman in stunning stockings, a man wrapped in something with a ghostly voice, a twice-ghostly samurai... They also wanted rest and peace.
Around the New Year, Beata and Guion had their long-awaited wedding, attended by all their friends. A mysterious priestess from a distant land, who had also arrived here some time ago - according to rumors, to escape a too persistent admirer - officiated the ceremony.
All the former "Carneol" crew members lived (or didn't live) long, happily, and carefree.

...at this time, in the main timeline, Beata and Guion anxiously awaited the news that Erefir would bring from the princess.
