Perhaps it was naive to expect anything different from this decaying hole in the middle of Anuzish, but it was hard to call it a fair price. How long would she have to work to earn a ticket to Nefta? Two months? Maybe a little less if she dealt with the monster problem. Two months in a place where she could be robbed, stabbed, and used as food. Combat skills were, of course, some kind of protection, but even the most talented and skilled warrior was not immune to a knife in the ribs. Not to mention that she would have to somehow explain to Her Majesty the reasons for such a long delay.
