"Tournament: Continuation
The next stage of the tournament was already more interesting in terms of events. The weak players were eliminated, making way for more talented warriors. First, there was a duel between Halmaldir and Mizrabel, which only demonstrated that her dirty tricks no longer worked – a single accurate sword swing ended the duel with a crushing victory for the elf. However, my battle with Shchak turned out to be the complete opposite – it lasted for more than an hour. The agile snake-man kept twisting and turning around me, making it difficult to hit him. I had to play for attrition until the scaled creature finally tired out, and I managed to catch him off guard.
The next duel could be described as "strength versus speed." Similar to Shchak, Rudor actively maneuvered and even successfully dodged many of his opponent's attacks, but in their case, the difference was too great. Gradually, the swordsman began to lose ground until he broke under the pressure of Selan. And the duel between Skammis and Agar once again showed that relying on dirty tricks was no longer a good idea. The main difference was that Skammis proved to be a talented swordsman even without using underhanded tricks, brilliantly defeating his powerful opponent. The next armored warrior was also unlucky – Seong emerged victorious from his duel with Fidel.
And Yuki continued to make up for her fellow countrymen, this time swiftly defeating the old-timer Gilon. Did he relax after his victory over Begonia? Or did she tire him out so much that he no longer had the strength for a new opponent? Either way, I expected more from him. I was even a little disappointed for the old man; after all, we used to work together. The next victory was won by Dekrux, in a style similar to his elven colleague. Not as brilliantly, but Fiona still couldn't do anything against him. And the stage ended with Jerl's victory over Lepcius. I can't say I'm surprised – Jerl was a very skilled warrior, albeit a strange person. And after that... everything is like in a fog. I still can't remember all the details, except for our battle with Halmaldir. I remember that he was considered the favorite. I remember how glad I was to cross swords with a comrade, so that we could show off in front of the entire coliseum – two warriors who had been through thick and thin. Now, I'm afraid, I would feel completely different emotions. Although sometimes I wonder if I'm really that much better.
The Lionheart Tournament
That very prestigious tournament that I mentioned earlier. It is known for its higher mortality rate, more rigorous selection of participants, and the fact that magic is allowed in it. Despite this, it successfully attracted talented warriors, those who love to earn money, and overconfident fools. Of my acquaintances, only Tsukiko signed up for this tournament. She even survived it, although she didn't become the champion. As for the other participants, they were:
Angel – yes, that very singer with an angelic voice. I forgot to mention that she was also a powerful sorceress, hehe.
Liria – a student of the Sorceress, fanatically devoted to her insane mentor. In the end, she turned out to be a less promising student than Halmaldir. I wonder if that made him the object of envy?
Dion – a skilled archer, famous not so much for his accurate shooting as for his difficult character and antisocial tendencies.
Ares – besides the fact that, according to rumors, he has royal blood in his veins, he didn't stand out to me in any way. It's strange, because just anyone wouldn't get into the tournament.
Sarina – she seems to be an aristocrat, but with her love for daggers and short swords, I would suspect her of being more of a bandit. Stereotypes, but nevertheless.
Nanyan – an overseas elf, known for her knowledge of dark magic.
Alastor – a fellow countryman with whom I had an interesting conversation, due to his ambiguous reputation. Unfortunately or fortunately, fate decided otherwise. I haven't heard of him since then.
Gordetia – yes, that very elf from the beauty contest. In addition to being beautiful, she was also a master of the "Sword of Dawn." I'll be lying if I say that I didn't want to try to master this style. I'll be lying if I say that this desire has faded. But I didn't get such an opportunity, and most likely, I never will. What a pity.
Eschil – another warlock, but not an elf. He is known for his extensive knowledge and good memory. An important quality for a mage, in general.
Amaranthus – another superhuman. Perhaps one of the few who can truly claim this title, as he has mastered a certain magic of time. Unfortunately, as a person far from magic, I am not aware of the details and limitations of this branch of magic.
Astilbe – another sorceress, but this time preferring a simple and straightforward fire element. I respect such a choice. If she weren't Tsukiko's rival, she could have been my favorite.
Zotz – a man of mystery, whose face was always hidden behind a mask. He established himself as a cruel and ruthless warrior.
Egeon – a former warrior who lost his career for exceeding his authority. Considering that I remember his fighting style worse than this fact, it says a lot.
Estella – a master of a certain ancient fencing style, which I had the opportunity to see only once in my life. It was at this tournament. A unique experience, although it was difficult for me to appreciate certain nuances – I prefer heavier swords.
Yoshida Ryoma – Tsukiko's fellow countryman, who fought with two swords. I remember that she really wanted to learn something like that, but she was refused."
Looks like 20 entries, that is, 360 experience. 800 experience in total. I will probably put it all into speed, before the duel with the hammer-wielder.
