Random maps definitely align better with the spirit and idea of online play. After all, online play on a fixed, pre-determined map is a kind of hybrid between offline and online experiences.
Personally, I'm all for random maps, but in this case, I think we should use a generator to create several maps based on a specific template, and then have someone who isn't participating edit them in the editor. Because with four players, just the restarts alone will take several hours. Someone needs to generate a few maps and eliminate at least the obvious imbalances. And the template should be suitable for four players. Small maps seem okay for two players, but I don't know about four – I've never played them, but based on the structural scheme, they seem to be designed only for two.
Added 4 minutes later Yes, and one more thing: I support players who choose 160% difficulty. Trust me, it simply takes less game time, at least for a week of gaming. And for 2v2 games, that's a lot. If they decide on 200%, well, we'll adjust, but I ask you to think carefully about this. Playing at 160% is very interesting and fun, and it definitely doesn't indicate a lack of skill.
