Returning to Carneol, Merel first checked on his plant and watered it if needed. Then, he began to tidy himself up, which took much longer. Examining his burns, he cursed and damned everyone who was in any way involved in what had happened recently. The astrologer hoped that this could be remedied and that a way would be found to heal the wounds he had received, but for now, he needed to hide them. Unable to think of anything better, he wrapped his hands and face in bandages until he could acquire new gloves and some kind of mask or something similar.
July 6th. Hearing an indistinct noise, Merel goes downstairs and discovers that a couple of his colleagues are talking to some armed stranger. - Who is this? - he asked dryly, not surprised that they had let an unknown person with a weapon into the house.
