- I always felt this would happen eventually. I can perform the ritual... I can promise to do everything in my power – and I will – but there are several things to consider. First, I've only participated in a similar event once before. I can't guarantee a positive outcome with a clear conscience. The guardian's condition may differ from that of Aria-dono. At the very least, he was completely consumed by his affliction, while she seems to have some control over it. Perhaps his mind was weaker, or deep down, he yearned for release to a degree that may not be the same as Aria-dono's. There could be many factors, and it's impossible to predict them in advance. We must be prepared for failure. Second, after the guardian is cleansed, the "heart" will physically leave his body. If we didn't have a healer present, his life couldn't be saved, and even with a healer, the chance of a positive outcome is no higher than the chance of death. You clearly have access to the best medicine in the empire, but... in the worst-case scenario, we might lose Aria-dono forever. Are you prepared for that possibility? And third... does she even agree to this? If I have to fight her and perform the cleansing ritual by force, then... I'm afraid it will be difficult, if not impossible.
