I think the Heroist's plan is this: Character 1 takes a guide, visits two locations, and returns to the default location with the guide for free. Character 2 takes the guide from the default location, visits three locations, and returns. Character 3 repeats the actions of Character 2.
It's possible, with the caveat that the guide has the same limit on the number of visits per day.
