Leaving the store, Aiyano stands for a moment, hesitating, and then, closing her eyes, she once again appeals to otherworldly entities:
"Okamisama-tachi, please let me know – should I finally go to Carnelian?"
For some time, she receives no answer, only catching the city's cacophony: arguments, threats, the shouts of street vendors, the cursing of loaders, the drunken laughter of sailors, and the oily flirting of men with women, followed by sharp slaps from women to men's faces.
Finally, her consciousness relaxes enough, the worldly noise fades into the background, and voices that clearly do not belong to the material world begin to emerge in her mind:
Aiyano opens her eyes.
"Not today," she understands.
Sighing and looking around, she notices a strange building called the "chamber of horrors." This might be useful for writing material – she heads there.
