Sitting in his cell all day, Merel wondered if he would be fired and replaced by someone else, or not. But most of the time, he thought about the local authorities and guards, who, judging by all, were not in a hurry to inform their superiors about various kinds of clean-up operations and special missions before they began. In my opinion, that shouldn't be the case; at least in a city under Merel's leadership, such things would be suppressed, because only one person should give orders, and they should also be aware of the events taking place in their city. However, a city that is too large would take up too much energy, leaving little free time for science and other matters, but a smaller town would be just right. And preferably not in the center, where there is a lot of traffic of all kinds, but on the outskirts, where senators and other representatives of the authorities do not particularly like to come. Maybe a small corner in a dark and dense forest... Or even in a swamp? I'm not talking about St. Petersburg.
