I thought about the first night; based on the description, it was a clear reference to Balzac. And what I took for a clue was actually a hint about the philosopher. That makes sense.
As for the second night, there are no obvious references to Balzac's characteristics. What prevents Grande from being a "good candidate" for Fragment's death?

I admit that Grande killed him on the second night, not Balzac. The hint about the killer is very different from the first night. And I vote to execute Yashur based on the clue, until I find a better option, or someone else presents one.
Your clue is fake. If I were a member of the Mafia, I wouldn't use Grande's murder while Balzac is still alive. It seems completely illogical to me.
