See, this test was conducted by pitting two heroes against each other, as I suspected. In this situation, the vampires really did win, and it's hard to explain how. Perhaps the computer's actions depend entirely on the obstacles on the battlefield, or maybe there's something else we don't know... In my example, I simply placed 3 monsters (vampires, snipers, and golems, which naturally join), 2 castles, and 2 heroes with 0 stats and no artifacts or secondary skills. So, if you add vampires and attack the golems, the golems lose in auto-battle.
I had a similar discussion with Kamikaze, but in the case of archers, specifically great elves (100 of them) and cyclops kings (24 of them); sometimes one side would win, sometimes the other (but only when the elves shot first - otherwise, the question wasn't considered).
