Was this successfully implemented? I assumed it was possible, especially since I approached him closely with the "Smoke Bomb" as a pre-battle action.

Did he use his rest ability? If so, what level was it?

Yes, this is the first battle of the day, and it's supposed to happen automatically each night. Well, since I'm level 3, it's probably level 3, but I haven't quite figured out how it works in terms of these passive abilities. Will there be 5 charges at level 3? And 10 at level 2? And can't I use a passive ability of a higher level?
