The elf-skeleton-eagle doesn't notice anything unusual as it emerges from the holes intended for rainwater drainage; the rats go in search of food, occasionally trying to climb into the houses of the townspeople through open windows.

Radiël finds a comfortable position somewhere on a balcony, out of reach of the rats, reverts to skeleton form, takes out a flute, and tries to charm them like the Pied Piper from the story.
