- I apologize, commander, but I'd like to point something out. Our one-legged friend is quite a... striking individual. Due to his powerful aura, I might miss an important trail left by a less potent source of scent. Perhaps it would be best to pair me with someone less impressive.

I don't know, maybe there isn't a friendly fire mechanic in the tavern, but at least in terms of roleplaying, it makes sense.
