Just finished watching the CinemaSins video about this movie because I became interested in the film itself while watching their previous videos, and the narrator is practically overflowing with negativity about it.

True, he also portrays the main character as a negative figure, which is a bit of an exaggeration.

Ah, that's familiar, although it's a slightly different situation. It can be justified, considering that complex/ambiguous characters need to be written well. And sometimes, even purely positive characters can't be written properly. However, the opposite situation with unwarranted criticism is just as common. Or when some viewers idealize a character too much, while others do the opposite.
