Look, you have 8 slots/cells at level 2. You can fit 8 skills of level II difficulty or 8 skills of level VI difficulty into these 8.

It's kind of like a warlock in D&D, almost... there, the cells are separate by level, but here they are common.

So, you can simply gather, say, a billion different skills of level 4 and use what is useful in a specific case in each battle, or reduce their level in order to fit several. So, can you cast a Fireball of level 2, or level 4? Or 4 times Magic Arrow, or 2 times Lightning. Or, like wizards in movies usually use their abilities at 10%, but at some important moment they try to create something powerful...

Skills are even more complex than race...
