What does Strength do? Does it only affect damage? Does that mean that for most characters, magical strength is more important than regular strength for dealing damage?
I tried to create a general damage formula that would apply to almost any build. And again...
The formula for calculating damage from a simple attack can be changed depending on the characteristics of your character.
Most weapons will have requirements for Strength, Dexterity, Perception, and Cognitive Abilities. So, it doesn't make sense for a potential two-handed weapon user to invest everything in Cognitive Abilities; they won't be able to lift their weapon. And by the way, it should be 1.3, not 1.5.
The difficulty check mentions some value in the level table that must exceed the damage from a simple attack for successful application, but I can't find this value anywhere.
It's at the very end, the second green row. The attack damage must exceed the value for successful application, not the other way around.
Also, considering that the damage modifiers for a simple attack are static, am I right in understanding that the main source of randomness will be the base damage of the weapon?
Yes, that's correct.
