SABATON - Christmas Truce (Official Lyric Video) — 4 I hadn't noticed the accent before.. All these Sabatons, Manowars and the rest almost always sound the same, specifically in terms of key (or whatever the correct term is?) and there are hardly any changes throughout the piece (at most another guitar kicks in somewhere near the end), and considering the length, the song starts to feel quite monotonous and might even become tiring. Although this track still sounds better than many of their previous ones in their repertoire, even the melody is quite distinct and memorable, but the vocals are still an acquired taste (not musical enough for my liking).
Kuro no Kiseki OST - What Is Ahead of You — 6. why is the picture jerky? Can't say anything bad about it, but can't say anything good either. Considering this is a mixed contest, it loses in comparison to VOlCAL tracks, precisely because it lacks a voice. The first half sounds decent in principle, maybe partly because of the trumpet(?), but the second half not so much.
Shy (Live) - Sonata Arctica - Lyrics — 4. now I've definitely been transported back to 2011 or even earlier.. I decided to listen to the studio version, thinking the song sounds different in the original x) But I would definitely have given that one a higher score (the vocalist doesn't shout there), especially since I've said nineteen times already that to rate a live performance you need to be a fan of the band or love that specific song (in which case you're ready to give a high score even to a live recording filmed on a phone, even if there's a farting bass and hum, because it's your favorite song), or at least know it. In all other cases, it's very difficult to rate and most likely no one will understand why it was even submitted, especially since someone might be listening on speakers or maybe even with earplugs, which further ruins the sound.
The beginning is just awful, but then it got alright, kind of cute.
Eva & the Vagabond Tales - "Sea Will Return You" (Official Video) — I first sent a more dynamic track from a different band (maybe Gerych would have liked it more), which changes mood at least three times, but then decided that loud and noisy ones would be submitted without me + I often send those myself, so I chose something quieter (plus nobody reads the lyrics anyway) and this was one of the three most distinctive tracks in my special Hurma list. Did you notice how something gets added almost throughout the whole song? (let's skip the intro). First, just the verse plays, then in the second part of the verse, a backing vocal is added. Then comes a bridge. Then the second verse begins, where a banjo is added. After that comes the chorus, which could be called an improved intro. Then the third verse starts and in it you can already hear a new guitar with "sustained" notes. Then the chorus comes again, which has changed once more and sounds even better thanks to new percussion sounds (the best version, in my opinion). Actually, it repeats twice and both times the sound differs, but I didn't really like the second version much, maybe because of that building tone. After that, just the melody remains and the guitar is given freedom, which essentially colors the ending of the song. I didn't bother writing about the various violins and other background stuff x) They have other good songs too, they sound pleasant, but some are calmer and more melancholic (including my favorite), while others I like less (but all have a better beginning than this one x)). And the video, by the way, is about how there are fewer and fewer HeroesWorld members every year and eventually only Siv, Героист and Reva will remain...
P5 OST 59 The Days When My Mother Was There — 5. 5 is for noobs, 3 is for old-school guys.. Essentially the same problem as the second track, only this one is more boring and lasts even longer. Otherwise, just a typical game track for walking around a city or something.
Gabry Ponte, LUM!X, Prezioso - Thunder — 7. immediately reminded me of Eurovision, maybe there were similar motifs there, but with simpler bass. Basically, the bass is what ruins everything (especially the second wave), in my opinion. At least it doesn't pound throughout the whole song and the track isn't very long. Without it, it sounds decent enough, but it gets tiring. I might have given it a lower score, but then I'd have to lower the Asian tracks, but they also have something memorable, meaning they already have a score above average (5), so let it be. A sort of advance, also considering the others.
[Electro Swing] LITTLE VIOLET - LIMITS - OFFICIAL AUDIO — 5. I'm not a fan of these cabaret-style motifs that have appeared on Hurma more than once. The most normal part is the little section before the chorus (from 0:30 to 0:38), which then repeats before the second chorus. If I were to make a diagram, it would be: Section > Chorus > Verse+rest. With a different structure, I might have given it a higher score)
【Ado】Tot Musica(ウタ from ONE PIECE FILM RED)— 6. It sounds okay, the melody is alright, but overall it didn't grab me.. the English version sounds better maybe))00
I'll assume the song was in French and I didn't understand anything.
you should have watched the music videos..
Про Грибочки - Darisha Quinones. A kind song. Testing Soyuz 017 Tube — 4. I've honestly never seen raspberries in the forest. The voice is fine, but the song... I think these kinds get tiring quickly too. Especially if you listen on repeat or have a playlist full of similar stuff.
eh, I should have lowered everyone's score by one point, but oh well.. 😇
Neira, where's Orville? He just released a new album recently, some songs seem pretty decent..
