RTF is a global modification that replaces all towns in the game.

it was decided to replace the undead armor with Byzantine/Russian armor; I've wanted to use Byzantine armor for a long time, but for warriors of a different faction.

the undead would be ancient, and the Academy would be Byzantine, but the city of the Academy is too Arab-Indian, so I abandoned the idea.

the dwarves and cultists wear European armor because these two peoples live in a fragile peace across the sea and exchange technologies. The Fortress faction are outcasts and liberals who lost the civil war and fled across the sea. They lost because the cultists made a deal with the conservative nobility – independence and power over the surface in exchange for military assistance.

the remaining factions will be based on other real peoples or will move into full fantasy (like the chaos dwarves).
