I got the Radiant Beacon, reached the battle with Baal. I equipped the Staff of Sar-Iss, Sandro's Cloak, and the Radiant Beacon, but Baal one-shots me in battle. Each creature has over 70 initiative, and it's impossible to defeat him; my creatures don't even get a turn. What am I doing wrong?
I suspect you're making the same mistake I did many years ago: you didn't apply initiative bonuses to your troops... For a mage, this is a must-have, and the map creator took advantage of that.
