War has a feminine face...

This isn't nonsense; it's proof. The film is true, although it's old; it's called "Come and See." And it wasn't about Hitler; I was talking about ordinary German soldiers.

I watched the film. :) The Russians were the ones doing the "burning" (sorry for the pun). But they weren't burning their own people; they were burning Germans, and even then, they shot them first. And they also burned traitors along with them. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with that. They deserved it.

Soldiers are not all the same. Of course, most Germans probably wouldn't have been thrilled with what their command was doing. But you forget that all the atrocities (when they made soap from people, etc.) weren't widely publicized. It all came out later, when the USSR and the Allies got their hands on the materials related to this...

Secondly, there were the SS, executioners, and other monsters – troops of a completely different category. In my opinion, this is the same as gathering a battalion of maniacs and arming them with excellent weapons, calling them elite units. These people really understood what they were doing, and they were completely sane when they destroyed innocent people. It's not surprising that by the end of the war, most of them rushed to get rid of their black SS uniforms, and the "cuckoos" (by the way, see the film of the same name) were specifically dressed in SS uniforms so that they wouldn't suddenly have the desire to surrender.

Apparently, the Russians (and not only them) had good reasons to hate them...
