Red armor looks better because it doesn't have such a strong contrast as yellow armor. When you look at the yellow armor, it feels like there's a bloom effect turned on, so you don't even see the details of the armor anymore, just some kind of black shape. It would be cool if light could break through with glowing patterns on the armor's relief...
