After reviewing the list of candidates and the ideas they proposed, Gideon noted that the Barbarian and Futaba programs, as well as his and Nirianna's, were almost identical, differing in only one point. It was interesting how the same initiatives were presented in such different ways. In a way, this unity and activity were even somewhat pleasing. On the other hand, it complicated the voting, and he himself almost certainly wouldn't win now – competing with the more popular and outgoing Nira, who had proposed the same ideas, didn't seem very promising and could quite possibly lead to both of them losing. For the same reason, he considered her chances of winning to be higher than those of the others in the class. Finding Nira in the hall, he held her gaze for a moment. At that moment, he didn't mind swallowing his pride and yielding to her, especially since all the ideas she proposed came from her classmates, including him, so her becoming president was a very good option. It was certainly better than Toad or Michaella. Besides, for some other, vague reason, he wanted to see her win...
