As Futaba goes down, she encounters Duncan rushing upstairs, but besides him, she doesn't meet anyone else. However, from the window of the second floor, she notices Laurence, her mentor, pointing an elegant-looking pistol at someone. Futaba didn't recognize the face of the person in the crosshairs, but it was clear that she wouldn't have time to run downstairs, let alone go upstairs for help.
