If the Hero player also doesn't want to, we can pass this role on to Veiliss. He really likes to talk and has a good charisma stat. Or to me, if absolutely no one else wants it. Varya and Futaba aren't very leadership material, in my opinion. In terms of RP, it's fine to vote for either Gideon or Niri for Leila. But even if Gideon wins the vote, Frag, you can always find a role-playing reason (if any exist) to decline and start a new vote.

Well, basically, if you don't want to RP or something, you can decline, citing the fact that managing a class of monkeys isn't exactly high-tech.
You don't even need elitism here; you can argue that it will all distract from the learning process. After all, the lost time could be spent on studying.
