This skill, in the Kaolian's opinion, was important for any aspiring cook. The swordswoman's choice fell primarily on ingredients for simple and inexpensive dishes that would be appropriate for the daily diet of any person, and knowing how to prepare them was the first step towards more complex recipes. After all, Anastasia was not a wealthy girl, and such knowledge would help her save on living expenses. They decided to cook outdoors, as Ayrlis already had considerable experience in this. Besides, her new acquaintance simply didn't have any housing, while she didn't want to live with Lyfa or Tava.

Understanding that her student was naive, simple-minded, and insecure, the Kaolian calmly and thoroughly explained each step of the cooking process, accompanying everything with visual examples and answering possible questions. If Anastasia couldn't do something or it turned out wrong, Ayrlis patiently explained her mistakes and explained how to avoid them in the future. They had no need to rush, and Ayrlis herself didn't mind spending time this way. She even took the time to compile an expanded list of recipes, complete with detailed instructions, so that the novice could continue her studies on her own in the future. After all, it was unknown how long their stay in Medivi would last.
